Maintaining your computer 

Your Norton anti virus or McAfee Antivirus that came with your computer was only good for about a 3 month free trial.  When it expired your protection stopped.  

Download AVG Free edition from Grisoft (Google Search for AVG Free).     Current Version is 8.0  You need to make sure the  loads in the lower right hand corner every time you turn your computer on.  Once a week double click the     on the desktop to make sure it is updated. 

Once a week open windows update or   and make sure all of your critical updates are up to date.  

Look at your system tray.    occasionally you will see a yellow shield.   Double click it.  and install the updates that Microsoft has downloaded.

Once a week run disk defragmenter.    DO NOT CLICK ANALYZE CLICK DEFRAGMENT Then Wait for it to finish it might take along time.

Download Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.60and install SpyBot.  Update SpyBot and Immunize.  Use the Search and destroy feature Check for Problems and Fix Selected problems.  Make sure you have the latest version of these products. If you are not sure call me 641-6140

 I Recommend that you Uninstall Ad-aware.     SpyBot seems to be sufficient
